What is gravure print?

The patterns in artworks are not printed on plastic film directly easily. They will be carved on cylinders firstly. Than the printing cylinders will be set on printing machine, the ink will be printed on plastic film by the cylinders.

What is printing cylinder?

Printing cylinder is made by copper and is finished with chroming for protecting the carved patterns. For each color in artwork, one cylinder will be made. For example, if there are 6 colors in your artwork, we have to make 6 cylinders.

In gravure print, the cylinder cost is charged for just one time since the cylinders can be used for more than 2 years. So if you make the totally same pouches next time, you will not need to pay the cylinder cost once again.

 

How many colors can be printed on pouch?
